I initially started working in Law in 2013, starting in the administration and archiving department. I progressed from this department and was trained in house to assist the Wills and Probate team as Paralegal helping with the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney. I quite quickly progressed to running my own caseload dealing with a range of different matters from preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Administration of Estates and Court of Protection applications. I also have a number of ongoing matters of which we act as professional deputies for clients. I enjoy meeting with, and speaking to, new (and existing!) clients and supporting them through some of the toughest times of their lives providing them with support and reassurance throughout. My aim is to help families during these times understand the next steps but also ensure that they are reassured that their matters will be dealt with as professionally as possible whilst still ensuring a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
I previously studied Health and Social studies at college and always enjoyed helping people. When I started working in Law, I was introduced to Court of Protection/Deputyship matters and I have been able to adapt some of my skills from college to deal with these types of matters and help clients who are vulnerable.
Over the last 10 years, I have gained knowledge, skills and professionalism in house through training from peers. I have recently completed a Specialist Paralegal Qualification in Wills, Probate and Administration which has enabled me to continue to build on and grow new skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, going on long walks and socialising with friends.
