Helen Barton

I studied at the University of Kent at Canterbury and completed the legal practice course with distinction at the College of Law, Chester, in 2004. I joined Symes Bains Broomer from a firm in Lincoln having completed my training contract there in 2007 and qualifying as a Solicitor.

I am a member of the Agricultural Law Association and specialise in agricultural property matters such as the buying and selling of agricultural land, advising on Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies and farm business tenancies, and option agreements and leases for renewable energy projects.

I also have a wide knowledge of commercial property matters, including the buying and selling of development land and industrial properties, Landlord and Tenant transactions and refinancing for commercial lenders. I have been involved in the drafting and negotiation of conditional contracts, option agreements, overage agreements and planning agreements together with the setting up of residential estates.

In my spare time I enjoy playing tennis and horse riding.
